Kauai is synonymous with pristine beaches, lush rainforests, hidden waterfalls and trails paved in adventure. Experience all of these delights and more, from Haena, a small community located on the North Shore. Haena offers seclusion, among its green foliage, and white sandy shores. Imagine feeling like you have paradise all to yourself, from one of our many Haena house rentals

House rentals are built for more people, making them the perfect options for traveling as a group or with your family. Like the Swiss Family Robinson, you and your kids can storm the beach every morning, experiencing all that Haena beach life has to offer. From building sand castles to surfing big waves, there’s no shortage of things to experience.

Haena isn’t overrun with shopping malls and restaurants. Instead, its main features are a variety of environmental destinations. These destinations won’t be overcrowded with tourists, but instead, lightly speckled with people like yourself – people who thought to avoid the hum-drum of large resorts in favor of a beachfront home nestled in among the locals. Since Kauai has so many miles of beach, tourists often comment on how deserted a lot of the beaches are, especially up on the north shore where Hanalei, Haena and Wainiha are located.

Tunnels Beach
Let your breath be taken by Makua Beach, also known as Tunnels Beach, an area widely known for its snorkeling. Even from the surface, you’ll be treated to colorful swarms of fish, the reef, turtles and more. If you’re certified, strap on the scuba gear for a mind-blowing deep underwater experience. The reef here is so large it can be viewed from space.

When you’re able to pull yourself away from Haena’s stunning beaches, you can travel a mile or so down the road, to experience the Wet and Dry Caves. There are a total of six caves, each relatively easy to get to. These caves are large enough to leave you feeling quite small. Some are safe enough to explore with children. The Dry Cave is level, large and right next to the road You can just walk right in. The Waikanaloa Cave, also known as the Blue Pool Cave, is a cave you walk up to, and then walk down into where there is a pool of water. It’s a bit steep and may also be wet and muddy so to stay safe, wear tennis shoes, not flip flops.

From there, you and your family have even more options for activities. You can spend some leisure time simply enjoying a tropical breeze from a hammock. Or you can work up a sweat hiking the Kalalau Trail, located in the nearby Haena State Park. Haena vacation rentals offer you the chance to experience these sights in the company of your loved ones.

NaPali Coast

Just a short jaunt from your Haena rental is the stunning NaPali Coast. The uncommonly pristine views of the NaPali Coast and its surrounding beauty will have you breathing deep and mentally planning for another visit. A single day simply does not cover all that the 15-miles of rugged coastline have to offer. NaPali is a truly magical place with many areas to explore.

Whether on shore, or off, the NaPali Coast has an adventure for you. On the water you’ll be treated to relaxing sailing adventures, rafting, whale watching, and some of the best snorkeling on Kauai. The abundance of sea life, along the NaPali Coast, will give you underwater views of another world, teeming in an array of beautiful color. There’s also Nualolo Kai, an archeological preserve. What’s different about this preserve? You can only access it by water.

Hiking this area is another fun way to experience the NaPali Coast. Hidden gems abound on this undeveloped coastline. Safe enough for entire families, but rugged enough to have you feel you’ve stepped onto a scene from the hit television show, Lost, Hanakapi’ai is NaPali’s most popular hike. This hike will have you viewing a lush river valley, discovering a beautiful waterfall, crossing the river, and relaxing on the soft shores of a hidden beach.

A Haena vacation rental distracts you from the stress of everyday life by delivering quality to your doorstep. You can take advantage of all the area’s natural wonders with so much wildlife and nature to experience. There’s really no comparing the splendor of quiet, beautiful Haena, to the robust, often-overwhelming city-based hotels and resorts. The best way to experience Hawaii is from one of our Kauai vacation rentals.

We’re proud to make your getaway come true, by connecting visitors with only the finest accommodations. Luxury meets affordability when it comes to these fine homes.
